So sorry to read of Mr Hathaway's passing. We never knew him and yet we did not live that far away from Sidney Center. The Hathaway family has a long history of being in this area, but just sad that we have not met many more of the family.
Our condolence to all of you.

To the Hathaway family: so sorry to hear of John's passing. What a wonderful man he was. I can remember as a kid going to Sidney Center to visit my Gramma (Nellie Gill) and going over to John and Toots house, or John would come over to Gramma's. My father, Bill Gill always admired John. In 1979 I went to work at Bendix and there was John, kind and respectful and always willing to give a helping hand. I'm sure he will be missed as a friend, father and family man. May he RIP.

I want to Thank God for John Hathaway because he taught me so many things in my life! First a Godly man who showed me how to put God first in my life and also him and I shared many hunting trips together in Pa and there in New York...he was with me when I shot my 12 point buck over on Unadilla hill and him and I drug it out together down to the road where a State trooper stopped by to see it. John was an awesome friend and would do anything for anyone. His testimony throughout his life was such an encouragement to me and HE was like another Dad to me and I loved the man dearly! We had so many laughs together and one day I to will meet Him again along with my Lord and Savior for that great reunion in the sky! What a day that will be!

Dear Jeanne, Arron & Joel, Jeff & Jim: We have been on this long journey with you and are thankful for all God has done to meet both your Dad's (grandpa's) needs throughout, but yours as well. His provision for you all emotionally and spiritually have been inspirational. We pray you hug your memories to your hearts of a life spent making others think well of themselves, and cheering them up with stories and humor. He was an instrument of God towards everyone he met. You always saw people laughing or smiling around him. What a legacy to pass on to you all. He has been found faithful throughout his journey. I loved his response. "No problem". A true outlook on life of one who had a child like faith in His Heavenly Father to take care of it all. Praying for Him to now take care of you all by comforting you in your loss. We are praying for you. Ed and Bonnie DuBois

Always saw Doc in his Varsity Club-style jacket before football games or atop the bleachers for BOTH JV & Varsity basketball games. What a keen observer and supporter of Sidney sports.
I thank him for his service to our country as well as to our school with his years on the Board...back when these community members worked hard (as volunteers) to ensure students had the best education possible.
Condolences to the family. I'm sure the scholarship you're doing will become a very special reminder of what Doc stood for.

Sue and I send our condolences to Uncle John's family. We missed seeing Uncle John on our trips back home to the Hancock NY/Equinunk PA area after he had to move to FL because of illness.
Doc and I shared a lot of great times together. Most of those times were hunting deer in NY and PA. Doc is the best deer hunter I have ever known. I always missed hunting with him and wished that he could have come to MN to hunt with me and my sons but it just never happened.
Doc you are in God's hands now. Rest in peace.
