Matthew Arthur Fitzpatrick, 85, of Unadilla, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 at A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta, NY. He was born on January 11, 1930, son of the late Raymond and Ellen Fitzpatrick. Matthew served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1957 when he was honorably discharged. He was a Technical Illustrator for Bendix Corporation in Long Island until his retirement. He was married to Mary Kempski in June 1961.
He is survived by: his wife of 53 years, Mary Fitzpatrick; three children: Mary, Matthew and Charles and 7 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, February 12th at Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty St. Sidney with Monsignor James Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Matthew's name may be directed to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
