My deepest and most sincere condolences to Mary and family. I worked with Matt for 18 years at Bendix Avionics in Fort Lauderdale, FL (not Long Island). We both worked in the Technical Publications Department. Matt was a wonderful coworker - always had a smile on his face and I loved his giggle. He had a wonderful sense of humor as well.
A few years ago I started a Bendix Avionics Division Facebook page and posted this sad news on this page last night and the loving comments haven't stopped coming in. He was loved by all.
Matt, you will be missed. I'll miss our exchange of letters and Christmas cards as well as the autumn leaves you used to mail to me every year since you moved back to NY while I'm in hot Florida.

Matt was a good friend of mine. We worked together in Ft. Lauderdale at the Bendix Avionics company.
I remember a few events with him. One day I signed him out of the hospital after 'stint' surgery, I believe it was. Dangerous move because I wasn't a family member, but he was extremely anxious to get out of the hospital.
I gave him an airplane ride in my 4-seat Piper Comanche. He loved it.
I asked him to make a voltmeter for the airplane which he did. I was amazed at the results he handed me. It's still working today.
I'm ever so sad to hear of his pssing.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend and former colleague from Bendix in Fort Lauderdale. Matthew took me under his wing, mentoring and training me with his amazing skills as a technical illustrator. We stayed in touch over the years, after he and his wife moved to New York, with frequent letters and pictures. My deepest and sincere condolences go to his wife Mary, and to their children and grandchildren, on the profound loss of this fine and gentle man. It saddens me to know that the letter I just sent, did not reach him. Goodbye my dear friend, and God bless you for the love, respect and fond memories of our long friendship over the years. Those memories will forever be with me.
Susan Ferrick, Deerfield Beach, Florida.
