Vicki, i remember how sweet your mom was when I stayed with you the weekend of your wedding.I always remember her very youthful exuberance and sense of humor. She made me feel right at home. I know it won't be the same without her but I know your memories will comfort you in the days ahead. And I know God will be near too as precious in His sight are the death of His saints...I love you my dear friend. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Kathy

My heart goes out to you and the family. Many many childhood memories come to mind. Too many to mention here. Have faith that your mom is now with your dad and they are happily together again. May God grant you peace and comfort and you know that your parents have both been redeemed and have now claimed their place in glory. Love you Cheryl. My condolences also to the rest of the family.

I have many good memories of you that span the years, dear Aunt Flossie. I will treasure the last time I talked with you, on June 4, 2012, the day my Dad passed away. It was a great phone conversation with remembrances, tears, and laughs. I love the stories of you and my Mom as girls. You will be missed. With Love,
Your Niece,
Julie

Vicki: I can tell that you wrote the obituary. How lovely. Your mother would be pleased. We curse them when they are stubborn, hold their hand when they are scared, chastise them when they are becoming "our children" and love them no matter what. We learn how much they fill our hearts, after they are gone - but they have always known. My heart goes out to you in this time of grief, and in the coming year. Please call me for a nice long walk soon!!! Love you! Joanne

The image I still have 45 years later is of Flossie always in a dress, immaculately made up and hair atop her head. Yes, the whistle was around the neck...back when she and Mrs. Silvernail had many more students to monitor in the cafeteria. Not sure why, but I also recall her long nails and always fidgeting with a rubber band. The Davie family extends its sympathies to surviving family members. While Flossie was yours, all who went through Pearl St. Elementary consider her ours.
