Obituary of Wade Elliott Decker
June 16, 1974 -- December 5, 2011
Wade Elliott Decker, 37, of Afton, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011.
Wade always had a passion of racing the "1W", a hobby that was enjoyed by his entire family. When his daughter, Connor, arrived, his family shared in that new dream. In the last few years, Wade gave up racing to support his daughter in her dream: softball. He was an amazing father and husband.
Wade is survived by his best friend of over 23 years and loving wife of 14 years, Brenda Decker; his daughter, Connor Decker, whom was so special to him. His eyes would light up whenever she entered a room; he just adored her. Also surviving are Wade's father, Hank Decker and Diane Nevada, his mother, Sue Decker and Billy Latham, his grandmother, Letha Briggs, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Kurt and Lanee Decker and Mike and Jen Decker; nieces and nephews: Caleb, Damon, Hailee, Dylan, Leah and Brianna; special uncle, Justin Briggs, and special friends in Wade's life: Josh Akshar who was like a son to Wade, Chris Stull, who was like a brother to him, Steve Collins and Michael Decker; and a special thank you to all his race fans and Norm Aprile for all his help with making the family dream achievable.
