Obituary of Edward Allen Johnson
Edward A. Johnson
Sidney, NY
Edward Allen Johnson, 57, of Sidney, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Tri-Town Regional Hospital in Sidney. Edward was born on March 18, 1954, son of Raymond G. and Virginia (Porter) Johnson in Sidney. He was a graduate of Unatego High School, Class of 1972. On April 9, 2004, Ed married Cathy (MacDonald) Raymond in Bainbridge.
Ed was a former co-owner of the Unadilla Diner. He also drove truck for Schneider Trucking out of Green Bay, Wisconsin for several years. Most recently, Ed was employed as a machinist at Amphenol Corp. in Sidney, where he'd worked since 2003. He was a member of the Unadilla Fire Department for over 20 years, and was Fire Chief in 1994. He was a former member of the Sons of the American Legion, Sidney. Ed loved to golf and bowl, and was an enthusiastic Giants football fan. He was an avid deer hunter, and greatly looked forward to hunting with his family every year: the preparation for hunting season began months before season even opened.
