Charles D. Borden 66 of 31 Union Street, Sidney, New York passed away peacefully Sunday June 12, 2011 in Delhi, New York.
Chuck was born March 5, 1945 in Oneonta, N.Y. the son of the late Dewain and Marguerite Short Borden. On December 14, 1968 he married Sandra Hendee at the Sidney United Methodist Church. He was employed by Jas. Mirabito and Sons of Sidney, New York for over 25 years.
Charles was a 43 year member of the Sidney Fire Department and the H.G. Phelps Hose Co. # 1; He was also a member of the Sidney Lodge # 2175 B.P.O.E... He was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose # 277 Sidney and the Sons of the American Legion, Sidney, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Hendee Borden, Sidney, N.Y.
3 Sons and daughters in-law Michael and Lori Borden of Creedmoore, N.C.
William and Paula Hoffman of Doylestown, Pa.
Bryan Borden of Utica, N.Y.
Sister Dorothy Decker of Oswego, N.Y.
4 grandchildren Jacob Borden, Alexis Borden, Amber Hoffman and Cassie Hoffman.
3 brothers-in-law Jack and Claudia Hendee of Oneonta, N.Y.
Earl and Diane Hendee of Sidney, N.Y.
Richard and Karene Hendee of Katy, Texas
He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main Street. Sidney, N.Y. A Fire Department memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral chapel
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011 from the funeral chapel with the Rev. Joseph Bokel, Catskill Area Hospice Chaplain of Oneonta, New York officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney, New York.
