Some fond memories I have of Dad in the early days (1970-72) was him taking me along with him in his red '67 Camaro as we drove to the north shore in LI. where he would enjoy surf casting for striped bass or blue fish. All the windows would be wide open as we enjoyed that hot summer evening air and listening to whatever was playing on the radio. For a young boy, I don't think it could get much better than that.

So sad to hear this news about Gary and I express my heartfelt condolences to his family. I met Gary through my son Luke’s friendship with Heather. He was a kind, loving and fun guy to be with. He gave of his talents and time generously to the community. I especially knew this through his many contributions to the fixing up projects we did at Christ Church, Gilbertsville. He was a skilled craftsman, and readily shared his insights and labor to many projects there. One summer, Gary invited us to camp with he and his family at Indian Lake. We had a fabulous time fishing and enjoying the serenity of that place. Since I moved away from NY in 2012, I have missed his friendship and company. I trust he rests with the Lord. I remember Gary so well from the turbine meetings…he was so sincere and passionate about wanting the area to remain the beautiful serene place he had moved to to escape the craziness of the downstate life! Rest well Mr Lackos!!!
