Walter "Skip McCann, Jr.

Walter "Skip" McCann, Jr. 54 of Sidney passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City.
He was born May 29, 1956, son of Walter V. McCann, Sr. and Marie (Gavin) in Brooklyn, NY.
Skip graduated from Sidney Central School in 1974 and married Patricia Butler in 1979 in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Sidney. As a member of St. Paul's he served on the Vestry and was a past Warden. Skip and Pat had two boys, Sean and Scott. Skip enjoyed coaching their little league baseball and rec. soccer teams. Skip's dedication to his kid's sports continued into the school as he served as President of the Sidney Booster Club. He loved the Sidney Warriors, the NY Mets and the NY Jets and was an avid fan of Fetish Lane.
Skip worked for the Amphenol Corp in Sidney for over 30 years and was member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Bainbridge. He was a past Warden and served on the Vestry as well.
Skip is survived by his loving wife - Patricia McCann, Sidney
2 devoted sons - Sean McCann and Chrissy Kruger, Rockdale
Scott McCann and Ashlee Rishell, Hershey, PA
Mother - Marie McCann
He was Poppa Sip to Abby, Chelsea, Lindsay, Zack and Peyton
He was also survived by a
Brother-in-law and his family
3 Sisters-in-law and their family
1 Sister and her family
2 Brothers and their families, several cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by his father, a Brother-in-law, a Niece and his favorite pet dog, Mrs. Jones.
Friends may call Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 5-8 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Skip requested for everyone to dress casually and in their Mets, Jets, Sidney Warrior or Fetish Lane attire
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Bainbridge at 11:00 AM. Rev. Marilyn Sanders will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Delaware Valley Humane Society 101 East Main St. Sidney.
