Obituary of Ralph E. McDougal

Ralph E. McDougal, Jr. Oxford, NY Ralph E. McDougal, Jr., 62 of Oxford, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City. Ralph was born on December 5, 1947 in Bainbridge, son of Barbara (Seymour) McDougal and the late Ralph E. McDougal, Sr. He graduated from Bainbridge-Guilford High School with the class of 1966, and attended Morrisville and Delhi Tech receiving his associates' degree in masonry. Ralph was a self-employed mason and a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 17. Masonry was not only his occupation, but his favorite hobby. He loved what he did and took great pride in his work. Ralph enjoyed music, especially the local band Fetish Lane. He loved nature, and was a hunter. He enjoyed watching sports, and was an avid fan of Giants football, Syracuse Basketball and Mets baseball. Ralph had many close friends and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved life and donated his corneas so that others could continue to enjoy theirs. Ralph is survived by his mother, Barbara McDougal of Binghamton and formerly of Sidney; his sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Wayne Harrington of Binghamton, nephews Jeffrey Harrington and his son Gavin of Binghamton, and Scott Harrington of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by several cousins and many, many friends. Ralph was predeceased by his father, Ralph, Sr. Friends are invited to call on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the funeral chapel with Rev. Benjamin Shaw, pastor officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, Southern NY Region, 5 Oak Ave., Sidney, NY 13838. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com.
