Our neighbors had Ralph reface their fireplace. They commented that Ralph was lucky to have left such beautiful things behind. We were lucky to have Ralph in our lives. And if you are one of the lucky ones, you are able to admire Ralph's labor of love, everyday.

Ralph was a friend and neighbor. A man with a heart of gold, kind to all, generous to many. You never left Ralph's home without a gift. It may be a cucumber or a jar of jam. It made him happy to give. I can't believe he is gone and will remember him always as a good friend, sorely missed.

About two hours ago, I got a call from my sister telling me this shocking news. I had no idea or word from anyone back home that Ralph was not well. Aside from Ralph, I only knew Barbara and these are two of the greatest people to have ever entered my life. Ralph and I had a friendship that was very loving, very caring and only shared by ourselves I think. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him. I am so blessed to have had this man in my small world. He is the most gentle, kind, loving human being that ever walked this earth. I had not seen Ralph for a couple of years but he will be hearing from me once again when I get upstairs. Thank you Barbara for bringing such a wonderful son and man into this world. It was my privilege to have been a part of his life.
Love, Sharon

Dear Mrs. McDougal, Margaret, and family,
I was saddened to learn of Ralph's passing. I had not seen or spoken to Ralph in several years and had no idea that he was ill. I always considered Ralph a good friend and will always remember the fun times we had as kids growing up together in Bainbridge. May God bless Ralph's soul and be with you all during this sad time. With deepest sympathy,
Larry J. Monahan
