Hi Grandpa!
I wish I were eloquent enough with words to put something profound, deeply insightful, or emotionally inspiring here, but I’ve never been one for words. I’m sitting here on my back porch right now watching the clouds drift by waiting on my flight itinerary to come through. It’s sunny and 77 here and kind of gusty here today. You always asked how the weather was in North Carolina when you’d call. If I listen hard enough I can almost hear you telling Pat and I some of your puns. My favorites were the ones where you’d guess which number we were thinking. I watched my kids played on the playground down the street your house last time we were up there, just like we used to when we were kids. Isn’t it amazing how different things look when you grow up, and yet so much seems to stay the same as it was when we were children. Is it as beautiful as they say it is where you are? I’ve only read about it. Can you see us from where you are? If you can, you can see I’m crying as I type this. I’m not sad, but I’ll still miss you. I’m happy for you! You’re in HIS presence now, and I know you’ll be waiting for us when we finally graduate this life. I can’t wait to see you again. I can’t wait to finally meet HIM.

We have so many good memories of our time with Victor and Flossie. The many visits during that last years were wonderful and to have that time together. My favorite memory of Victor is when I was about 4 years old and Aunt Bernie dressed me in her white suit and put make-up on me. Victor and Donald came in from high school and both were standing in the doorway. Vic was smiling and told me how beautiful I was. I was so happy to know that they thought I was beautiful. Garrett and I will miss you.

Dear Flossie and family, Sorry to hear of the loss of Vic. I can still remember coming to your house on Overlook Drive (it was across the street from where I had lived growing up.) I was younger than you and Vic but through the Hobert and Viva Barnes (Grandparents and their kids)on Adams St. I remember you. It's very hard to lose someone that has always been there. Vic is now at peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
