Obituary of Bertha Hackett

Bertha Hackett Bainbridge, NY Bertha Hackett, 90, of Bainbridge, passed away peacefully in her home on November 15, 2015, following a short illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Floyd and Bessie Hackett. Bertha was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived downstate until 2003 when she moved to Otsego County with her good friend, Doris Johnson. At the time of her passing, she lived with Aurelia Radu and attended New Berlin Day Habilitation program. Bertha was a wonderful person who always had a smile on her face, a kind word to say and a positive outlook on life, even when facing death. She was an inspiration and powerful example of how to live life to the fullest - content, regardless of her circumstances and often heard saying, "I'm satisfied". Bertha was very active and enjoyed getting her nails painted, playing baseball, going bowling, cooking, and music of all kinds. She was very thoughtful and always remembered everyone's birthday with a card and a song. In her free time Bertha crocheted doilies for others. Bertha was a Christian who enjoyed and looked forward to attending church. She attended the Baptist church in Sidney, and on occasion the Circle Drive Alliance Church, also in Sidney. Bertha was deeply loved and cherished by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed! Calling hours will be held at C. H. Landers, Main St, Sidney, NY Thursday 11/19/15 at 4pm with funeral service following at 5pm. Committal to be held at Fairview Cemetery in New Berlin on Friday, 11/20/15, at 11am with a Celebration of Life at the New Berlin Day Habilitation program, Friday at 1pm.
