My heart goes out to all the Blakelock family on their loss of both their parents. I always considered Sally and Douglas as a second Mom and Dad .I will always remember growing up next door to all of you. Mom and Dad always had open hearts for all and were angels. Love you all and may they be at peace in heaven with my Mom and my son Joshua. May God be with you all

Dear Blacklock Family,
I met Sally 33 years ago, when I attended my Cursillo Weekend (Albany #2). Sally was on the leadership team. Her ready smile, dedication, and positive energy helped all of the candidates to feel valued, at home, loved, and free to grow. Following the weekend, I often saw Sally at other Cursillo and Episcopal Church activities. Later, my family experienced Sally and Doug in a different way, when my older son attended a Happening Weekend. As a couple, they became the honorary and spiritual parents to many young men and women. They provided safe, loving, and creative supervision to the youth attending and to the youth leading the weekends and for other Happening events. Countless young adults are leading faith-filled lives due to their positive influence. May thinking about the dedication Sally and Doug had to Cursillo and to Happening bring comfort and smiles to you today.
God bless you all.
In the sure and certain hope and with grace and peace,
~Colette Odell (St. George's, Clifton Park)

We first met Sally and Doug 40 years ago, when we came to St. Matthew's after our Marriage Encounter weekend. Soon after, we became regular parishioners of the church. It was because of the many loving people, like Doug and Sally, that we made that choice. Over the years, we shared so many events with Doug and Sally, both in and out of St. Matthew's, and we will cherish those memories forever. We know that Jesus has welcomed our dear Sally into his fold, and her pain and suffering are no more. We ask for comfort for Douglas Richard, Loie, Paul, Lisbeth, and their families.
From Vicki: Sally was my dedicated teacher for Alter Guild, and I am honored to be the one to set up for her funeral.

What a lovely tribute your obituary for your Mom is. She and your Dad were dear friends of ours for 50 years, and I grieve at her passing, yet am joyful she is reunited with Doug. We enjoyed many events with them, and loved watching all you children grow up and launch into life. I wish I could be with you on Friday, but distance only permits me to be there in spirit. Love and God's Peace to you all.
