Bastine "Bucky" Caracciolo
Sidney—Bastine Caracciolo, beloved father, grandpa, brother and friend, known as Bucky, went to be with the Lord on September 1, 2015. Bucky was born on December 19, 1917, son of the late Carmen and Marietta Caracciolo. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart with clusters for being wounded during the D-Day Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. His passions included playing golf, bowling, playing cards and dancing.
Bucky is survived by: his partner, Caroline Harrington; 2 daughters, Maria and Daniel Sherwood of Sidney and Beatrice and Kevin Gregory of Timberlake, NC; Caroline's children who he loved like his own, Aggie and Ray Clapper of Franklin and Louise and James Jackson of Texas, sister, Phyllis Carnes of Harrisburg, PA, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Tuesday September 8th in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. Condolences may be made online at www.landersfh.com.
Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
