Lois K. Thompson, 95, a longtime resident of Sidney, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after a brief illness.
Lois was born in Ilion, NY on August 13, 1919 to Harold & Claribel (Volk) Kane. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth W. Thompson, parents, brothers George & Morris Kane, and sisters, Helen Kane Davidson & Katherine Kane O'Bryan.
She is survived by; three sons and spouses, James (Wendy), Livonia, NY, Kenneth (Susan), Freehold, NY, and Philip (Norlene), Endicott, NY; 8 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jessica), Patrick & Lynne Thompson (Button), Julie (Ted) Lounsbury, Andrew & Jason Thompson, Nicholas & Elizabeth Thompson; 5 great-grandchildren, Zoey & Kainoa Thompson, Matthew Button, Claire & Teddy Lounsbury; a sister Barbara Kane Chase and a sister-in-law Rosemary Shedd Kane, both of Mohawk, NY, and several nephews and nieces.
Friends are invited to call from 10:00-11:00am on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sidney, NY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association. Condolences and memories may be shared online at www.landersfh.com.
