Obituary of Charles F. Stanley

Charles Stanley Guilford, NY Charles Frederick Stanley, 81, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City. Charles was born on October 16, 1933, son of the late Charles M. and Nina (French) Stanley in Franklin. He honorably served his country in the US Army until his discharge in 1955. He was a Tool & Die Machinist at Amphenol Corp. in Sidney, retiring in 1989. On July 27, 1957, he married Jane Scheidegger in the Guilford Episcopal Church. Charles was a member of the Sidney American Legion. He enjoyed golfing and bowling, and was an avid hunter in his younger days. He was also known to be an excellent woodworker and antique restorer. He loved his family and especially enjoyed teasing his grandkids. He will be missed by: his wife of 58 years, Jane Stanley of Guilford; three daughters: Deborah Delaney of Fairport, Carol and Frank Winn of Bainbridge and Susan and Andy Zibuck of Rochester; 6 grandchildren: Danielle Winn, Jacob (Nicole) Winn, Amanda (Rick) Parsons, Michael Delaney, Andrew Shawn Zibuck and Karolina Evelyn Zibuck; 4 great-grandchildren: Danica, Frank, Grady and Charlie Jane; his sister, Shirley Bates, and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Richard, and two sisters, Frances and Arlene. Friends are invited to call from 1:00-3:00pm on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services with military honors will begin at 3:00pm at the funeral chapel with Rev. Thomas Margrave officiating.
