Obituary of Bailey Grace Tomas

Bailey Grace Tomas Sidney, NY Bailey Grace Tomas, 7, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, May 29, 2015 after a lifelong battle with congenital heart problems. The youngest of triplets, Bailey was born on May 22, 2008 to Antonio and Bambi (Vandermark) Tomas in Johnson City; and she was a fighter from day one. She overcame numerous surgeries and grew into a sweet, happy girl. Bailey was currently a first grader at Sidney Elementary School, where she recently received the 'Bus Rider of the Month' award, and the 'Bus Rider of the Year' award. She enjoyed cheerleading and could really shake her pom-poms. Small but mighty, she ruled the house. She loved stuffed animals, playing outside with friends and going to the library with her Grandma. Two years ago, her family took a memorable vacation to Disney where Bailey bonded with the Grinch. Bailey had big, bright eyes, and a smile that would light up any room and the world will be a little dimmer without her in it. Bailey is dearly loved and will be missed by: her parents, Bambi and Antonio Tomas; brother and sister, Antonio and Hannah; grandmother, Heather and Robert Crowley; special aunts and uncles, Angel (Randy) Leonard, Sue (Ron) Northrop, Charli Jo (Evan) Oliver, Heather Cotten, Troy Vandermark (Casa Davis), Francisco (Jennifer) Tomas, Leeta Crowley, Frank Crowley and Sean (Jessica) Crowley; many cousins including: Justice and Alex Oliver, Ricky and Marissa Leonard, Mackenzie Cotten, Piper Vandermark, Kari and Billy Northrop, Lilly and Milena Tomas and Sarah and Shannon Crowley and Keylee and Harleigh Crowley, as well as numerous friends and extended family who loved her. Bailey was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Theodore Vandermark; paternal grandparents, Susi and Francisco Tomas; cousin, Macie Cotten and uncle, Robert Crowley. Bailey's family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Smith and Pediatric Cardiology for blessing them with 7 wonderful years with Bailey, as well as the Emergency Squad for all their efforts to save Bailey, and the NYS Police, especially Trooper Hicks and Investigator Ward for their care and compassion. Friends may call from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm.
