it was with deepest sadness that I learned today of ken's passing. I truly considered him my best friend growing up in Oxford and through our early 20's, we had grown apart in later life as we each attended to new careers and families. I will never forget the basketball games in the neighbors barn and in the driveways of both our homes. my most sincere condolences to his mom and dad who were also friends and to his family. shoot some hoops in heaven for me Hondo. hopefully, we will get together again some day.

To All the Padens- I have such fond memories of all the family reunions and Kenny's warm, funny personality. I know there's a hole in your heart at this sad time. I will keep you all in my prayers and know some day, we will all be reunited again.

I'd have to go back more than 30 years to my first interaction with Ken. "The Sporting Eye" newspaper was composed, printed and distributed through the business then on Division St. Later, Ken asked me to be part of his venture "Susquenango Sports" where I saw just how many hats he wore week and week, year after year.
Yet with all the pressures of deadline, accuracy and style keeping in the tradition of Mr. Mac and Ed Roelle, Kenny never seemed "rushed". We were fans of opposite NY baseball teams, but never actually argued. That's not easy!
I saw him last in February. We talked nostalgic Giants football. Who knew it was our last interaction, but it certainly was consistent. Oh, and the piece he wrote when Isaac Nieves became the first local casualty of the Gulf War was as solid as anything I've ever read. A true gentleman, Ken's journalistic style was as good as his managerial skills.
May he rest in peace, and pkease accept my family's sympathies to the Paden family.

Sue, Kelly & Kristy,
It was with great sadness that I learned of the untimely passing of your husband and father. Having purchased Sidney Favorite Printing from him 3-1/2 years back, I can say that we became friends through our respected professions and I believe, had we met earlier on in life we could have been very good friends indeed. I found Ken to always be smiling and happy. Whenever I was in town and and stopped by to say hello, we would have coffee and talk "old school" shop. I enjoyed those chats, because we are of the same age and mind set. I will miss those chats and cherish the short time we were friends. I will pray for Ken and your family and I wish you all the best while trying to deal with the future, while trying to carry on with your lives without your beloved husband and father.
GOD BLESS Ken and your family. RIPn

I was so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. He did so much for me and the alumni newsletter Reflections. He always went out of his way to help us get our paper out in a timely fashion and always supported the Sidney Alumni Association. He was a great guy and I will truly miss him.
