Obituary of Gwendolyn E. Grant

Gwendolyn Grant Unadilla, NY Gwendolyn Hood Grant, 96, of Unadilla, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 8th 2015 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta, NY. Gwendolyn was born July 24, 1918 in Binghamton, NY, the daughter of Arthur and Mina (Bennett) Brown. Her early education was in Oxford and Greene, NY. She married William A. Hood June 10th, 1937 in Susquehanna, PA and later moved to Unadilla, NY. She worked at the Unadilla Tie Company until her retirement after 31 years of service. On August 29, 1985 Gwendolyn married MacDonald Grant in Fletcher, NC. They traveled the 48 states, Canada and Mexico in their motor home enjoying the many sites and discovering the history of the places they visited. Gwendolyn was predeceased by her first husband, William A. Hood, her second husband, MacDonald Grant and her sisters Madelene Wallstrom Wells and Shirley Girndt. She is survived by her son William B. Hood and wife Vicki (Egnaczak) of Sidney, NY, two grandchildren, Brian Hood (Amanda), Raleigh, NC. and Danielle Hood, Lewisburg, PA, one great grandson, Jackson Hood and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services and burial will be held at 12:00noon on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Unadilla, NY.
