Dad,I miss you more than I could have imagined. If we only had another day, week, month, or year with you, that still wouldn't be enough time. I am grateful we have been able to be together as a family, leaning on one another. But your recliner is still empty. The birds are being fed and still come out even in the coldest temperatures. I am proud to be your daughter. The pain of missing you is consuming. I know we will see you again, what a glorious day that will be. I Love you so very much!

"Thunder Road"
My truck and I pull together, we work as if we are just one, She's been a good companion and now we're on our final run. It seems as if we've covered every highway on the ground, But now we're rollin' steady 'cause we know we're homeward bound. In the years we've rolled together, this truck and I have seen it all, We've run with some real good people, and I smile as I recall the hard times and the fussin' and the good times on the road, The comraderie as we ran together thru the night and hauled our loads. Truckers always pull together when they find some common ground, And when you're lookin' for good people, there's none finer to be found!
But this time I'm rollin' solo, just me and my trusty truck, We've got to get a goin', so goodbye . . . and lots of luck! I'm rollin' up to heaven, up there on that Thunder Road, They said they're waitin' for me and this very special load. They said to check in with the angel at the guard shack of heaven's gate, I guess they need another trucker to haul some of that holy freight! So the next time you see the lightening and you hear that thunder roar, Don't you worry about the storm clouds . . . It'll be the diesel hummin' as we welcome home one more!

Dear Shirley and Family,
I am so Sorry to hear of our families lost, Lee Worden was a great man, while growing up as a young boy I enjoyed spending the summers in New York, you and Lee always open your doors to Me and my family when we were on vacation. The trips to Brook's Chicken was the best, it was fun to watch Dad "Roland", Richard "Dick" and Lee "Sparky" joke around and acted like they were kids again. It wasn't till I grew older and started have my family that I would treasure those memories so much. After Dad and Uncle Dick pasted I grew closer to you "Shirley and Lee, trying to call once a month just to check in on Lee and see how yall "that's Arkansas talk" were doing. I will miss Uncle Lee very much and I know he is with the Twins "Roland n Richard" keeping them in Line. The Worden Family in Arkansas are praying for the family in this time of lost. Love you and talk to you soon....

My life is so filled with remembrances of Lee. I relished the times of family gatherings at Grandma and Grandpa Worden's where he carved the turkey and always helped with kitchen cleanup, unlike my dad who only ventured in the kitchen to eat, to the continued Christmas gatherings at my parent's house in Otego where he always had time to chat about our lives and he and Vern found that they both enjoyed racing.
When I taught in Guilford, I would often see him with a "smirk on his snirk", at the local convince store and we would get caught up on the latest family news and renew my love of mom's family and replay the memories.
I'm even now thinking of when I stayed overnight with Uncle Lee and Aunt Shirley when they lived on Center Street in Oneonta. I'm not even sure they had any of you younguns yet, but I had a great time there. Shirley you and Lee have been married for as long as Vern lived, that's pretty amazing. A life well lived, Uncle Lee, Love you. Prayers for peace.
