Dear Betty and Family, and Jackie and Murray and their families, I grew up in the house next door to the store (which they tore down years later) so I knew all the Logan kids well. When I was married in 1956 I moved to Oneonta NY. When I went to see my mother who still lived in Sidney I would always stop at the store. (I just always loved Mrs. Logan's pies) When I was younger I spent a lot of time with the Logan family and have some very fond memories of all of them. Some times I would see someone at the alumni luncheons. I know Don is with his parents now in heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Logan Families

I am afraid I am late in finding this obituary. I remember Don (and Murray!) very fondly from the store. When I was pregnant I could always count on them to have a gallon jug of pickles on the counter to sooth my cravings...and a wonderful chit-chat across the meat counter.
It was a sad day in Sidney when the store closed...the Banana breads, potato and mac salads were signatures that are greatly missed. Along with the smiling faces of all who worked there.
Please extend my deepest sympathy to entire family. This is a huge loss for the Sidney community!

I am so sad to hear of Don's passing. I remember going into Logan's as a teenager and then as a married adult. Loved to chat with Don when I was at the meat counter. He certainly loved people. I know the Lord has another angel up in Heaven named Don Logan.

I had the joy of working at Logans with Don and both Murray Sr. and Jr. This was in 1966-early 68. While
in the navy I made a point to stop in anytime I returned to Sidney I leave. I can still picture him back behind the deli section. I'm sure he will be greatly missed.

Our condolences to Betty and the family. He was the best friend anyone could have. Don never missed in letting us know that our upcoming monthly luncheon was coming. He was the glue that kept our group together for so many years. We will miss him so much but fond memories of all the great things we did together will always be there.

No question the legacy of Logan's store was a generational thing, and Don was a major player in that tradition.
Many in business today could take lessons in customer relations from Don Logan. For me, the best years came when they started advertising on WCDO, which meant I met with them weekly...and learned SO much more about the family. They, in turn, wanted to know more about my family. It's what made staying in Sidney worth it.
On a more personal note, I will always remember the years at Clocktower Fitness when we'd work out and talk sports in between. He was always up on the HS sports scene. That's when I knew Don loved his hometown beyond the store.
Condolences to the family and be content knowing Don was the real deal. Genuine and loving all the way.

My Dad just told me about Don... I am one of many former "stock boys" that worked for Don and Murray... I am very saddened and shocked to learn of his passing. Anyone who knew Don, like me, was certain he'd live forever! That being said, he will!! I have many fond memories of Don, and many lessons taught by Don while working at store that carry over into my business now. Many of which, I have tried to impress on my own children and their work ethic. Don was a terrific man that has left a lasting impression on more than just me.. He will be missed. Betty, all my best to you at this difficult time..
