I worked with John at Bendix for fifteen years and enjoyed his character and personality more than I can describe with mere words. John was one of the most enjoyable personalities you will ever meet and always had a joke or quip on the tip of his tongue. I went ice fishing with John and hunted on his property in Rogers Hollow numerous times. I visited the house and spent time with both John and Mary Lou and knew all of their children. I still think of both John and Mary Lou often and will until I can meet him on a frozen lake in the sky. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Our deepest sympathy to the Bickos family.
John was always a good friend and more than helpful co-worker. He taught me metallurgy and the importance of teamwork and fair play. I truly miss him.
God speed, John.

I was sad to hear of John passing----but know he enjoyed a long and rich life. I know Peter would join in the many recollections of times together with John and Mary Lou over the past 55 years. Especially the wonderful ice fishing adventures of those two close buddies, along with Jack and Mike. The fearsome foursome. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family.

Dear Mike, Jakkie, Judy, Jeanne,
We sadly send our condolences to you. Your dad (and mom) were especially close to mine, Bob & Elsie Wessels in their younger years. Uncle John was one of the best!
Steve and I spent many an overnight with your parents, before you guys came along....either they were practicing or, as I suspect, they really loved children. I know they were good at it and I never saw Uncle John in a bad humor. Amazing!
He is missed, but we are relieved he is with Aunt 'Lou in a better place.
With love,
Gini

Mike, Jakkie, Judy and Jeanne,
My deepest sympathies to you and your families. I too have great memories of Uncle John especially at the Wessels family reunions on Guilford Lake. He always had a laugh and was genuinely interested in what was going on in people's life at the moment. John was one of the good guys!

To the Bickos family, please accept collective condolences from the Davie family. This is really going back, but I can recall a social group both sets of parents belonged to called the "Couples Club". My mom mentioned "John & Mary Lou" as members.
Also, when our Sidney Alumni Sports Hall of Fame was inducting its then-oldest member William "Hummy" Hulbert, John helped gather memories from his teammates why Hummy was such a great athlete. It was very much appreciated.
Sympathies from the Davie family, who agree with all he can once again be united with Mary Lou.

In loving thoughts and prayers to the Bickos family. I know that words cannot express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. If it be of any comfort, John is with his wife; Mary Lou rejoicing in the love of our Heavenly Father and are once again hand in hand together for all eternity. He was a wonderful man and a great father, husband and best friend to many. He will be missed greatly by all who loved and knew him. I am deeply sorry for your loss. May God comfort you all and bring you peace knowing that he is safe in Jesus' arms.
