Obituary of Richard E. Mackay

Richard E. Mackay Mt. Upton, NY-- Richard E. Mackay, 73 of Mt. Upton passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Chenango memorial Hospital in Norwich. He was born to the late Richard E. and Bertha (Pernot) Mackay on June 18, 1941 in Manhattan, NY. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia (Donlon) Mackay. He is survived by four sons, Richard (Doreen) Mackay of Brooklyn; Steven Mackay of Mt. Upton; James (Antoinette) Mackay of Yorkville; Michael (Tracy) Mackay of Sherburne; four grandchildren, Miranda Mackay, Caitlyn Mackay, Vincent Mackay and Matthew Mackay; and a brother, Russell Mackay of Queens. He was also predeceased by his brother, Robert Mackay. Richard served as Vice President and board member for Opportunities for Chenango. He was Vice President of the Chenango County Democratic Committee and served on the NYS Democratic Committee. He also served on the board of DMCO BOCES. Friends may call at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street, Sidney, New York, on Saturday, November 29, 2014, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM with Fr. Gordon Polenz officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Mt. Upton. Memorial gifts in his name may be directed to the charity of one choice.
