I was very heartbroken to hear of the loss of Jackie Ruff. I cannot say that I had the pleasure of knowing her as any of you did but as an international student at SUNY Oneonta, I got to interact with her at a few encounters. I am saddened by the loss of such a wonderful woman and friend. I wish Jackie and her family peace and closure. She was one of the strongest people I knew. It is with deep sadness to learn of Jackie’s passing yet with deep gladness that she is out of her suffering and pain. I admired her strength in fighting this cancer nemesis, encouraged by her resiliency and love for each moment in life, inspired by her ability to let go of unimportant matters, and I respected her ability to practice her faith by being a loving, caring, and decent person on and off the job. She made a positive difference in the lives of her friends, family, co-workers, and students. What a marvelous life legacy to have led a life of artistic talents, dedication to her beloved animals, affection for her grandchildren, and joy for life.
