Leona S. Ellis, 89, of Trout Creek, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Norwich Rehab and Nursing Center in Norwich after an extended illness. Leona was born on October 2, 1924, daughter of the late Clement and Versa (Hall) Snow in Guilford, NY. She was a long time employee of Amphenol Corp. in Sidney, working in various departments before her retirement.
Leona was a dedicated member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 502 in Sidney. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and reading. She loved gardening, both flowers and vegetables alike. She also loved family gatherings; her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.
She is survived by:

3 Daughters: Kim Holden, Trout Creek
Dorothy Boning, North Franklin
Denise and David Beaney, Leesburg, FL
4 Grandchildren: Rachael Holden, Karen Boning, Patti Boning and Derek Beaney
2 Great-Grandchildren: Corey Beaney and Katie Robinson
Brother, Robert Newman
Several nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Albert Tuttle.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street Sidney, led by the Women of the Moose Chapter 502. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Sidney Women of the Moose Ch. 502, 20 East Main St. Sidney, NY 13838.
