George T. Tuttle 76 formerly of Laurens, NY passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford.
He was born April 10, 1933, son of the late Martin and Mary (Dunn) Tuttle in Livingston Manor, NY.
In 1953 George enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country. He was honorable discharged 1955.
George was good with his hands and made his living as a self employed carpenter. In 1994 a decline in his health forced him to move into the Veterans Home in Oxford.
He is survived by:
Daughter - Linda Ramsey and her fiance, Duane Bourn, Masonville
Son-in-law - Bill deVries, NC
Grandchildren - David Shampang and his wife Brenda of Bainbridge, Crystal Brown and her husband William of Afton
Frank, Lucy and Geoffrey deVries of NC
Great Grandchildren - Kelsea and Layne Shampang
Jared Brown
Brother- Theodore Tuttle, Livingston Manor, NY
Many nieces, nephews and cousins
George is also predeceased by a daughter, Barbara deVries, son, Michael Tuttle, brothers, James, Paul, Clifford and Albert Tuttle and Grandson, Ben deVries.
Friends may call Tuesday, July 14, 2009 from 7-9 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney.
Graveside services with military honors will be private in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Patient Fund at the NYS Veterans Home 4207 State Highway 220 Oxford, NY 13830
