Paul, I never met your dad but, from reading this lovely tribute and from having known you so many years ago, it's obvious that he was a special man who imparted great values to his children. Please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss.

Early morning fishing trips and strawberry picking
so fondly I remember.
Sidney summertime swimming lessons
riding back on vinyl seats scalding like hot embers.
Counting the days until Christmas.
Running home when their car was within sight
knowing how much they missed us.
Coffee at six in the morning
with burned toast and marmalade.
Coffee in his cereal
that was an acquired taste it must be said.
Picking Grandpa up from work.
Summer Sunday school at the playground.
Chicken on the grill
with all the ice cream we wanted for dessert.
Celebrating Thanksgiving at their house all together.
Visits from Uncle Paul and Aunt Susan.
Grandpa's favorite Blue sweater.
Enough now for I could go on for days
about all the special memories I have of them
and that wonderful place.
So today I mourn as the star dims that once shown so brightly
upon Grandpa's face
But forever I remember his love, his generosity, and
His heart warming embrace
