Obituary of Ruth Jewell

Ruth Jewell Sidney, NY Ruth Jewell 96 of Sidney passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009 at her home. She was born May 20, 1913, daughter of Archibald and Minnie (Schorndorf) Rapson in Peekskill, NY. Ruth married Wilbur Jewell on May 26, 1934. He predeceased her on July 15; 2006.Ruth was employed by IBM in East Fishkill, NY when she retired. Ruth and Bill were avid square dancers, they were members of the Tri-county Twirlers and Ken's twirling birds. She had also been a member of the Sidney Women of the Moose for 28 years. They also enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends. Ruth is survived by: Son and daughter-in-law - Donald and Lyla Jewell, Sidney Several grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and 2 Great, Great grandchildren She was also predeceased by her daughter Carol Kott and son Wilbur Jewell, Jr. Friends may call Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 1-2 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM Burial will be in Carroll Cemetery in Trout Creek.
