I will always remember Gus after his professional life. When I started announcing baseball and softball games on the old varsity fields at Sidney, his house was closest for the phone line (about 200 feet!) to be used. At first, he grumbled a bit. But one year, I arrived and found he had patched in an outside hookup so he didn't have to hang one out the window. Thanks Gus. Many will miss you, no one will forget you.

I enjoyed talking with Gus on the Quackers net. in the morning. He will certainly be missed by the amateur radio community.
God bless,
Waine.

I worked with Gus as a Trooper in the 60's and early 70's. And I probably know some of you children back then when you were younger and smaller. You have my sincere condolences on the death of your father and grandfather. May God comfort you in your time of grief.

I was sooo saddened to hear about Gus!! I will truly miss him! I got to know Gus through waiting on him at Fairbanks and then Rite Aid. I will always remember him saying "I don't wanna" when I would ask him to sign the signature pad for his meds. I enjoyed picking on him and him picking on me. My thoughts and prayers go out to Letty and all the family. <3 Chris
