Obituary of Gleason Puffer

Gleason Puffer, Sr. Unadilla, NY Gleason Puffer, Sr., 79, of Unadilla, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at his home. Gleason was born on October 18, 1929, son of the late Jay and Ruth (Beers) Puffer in Granton, NY. Gleason was a retired machinist from Amphenol in Sidney. He married Martha Scoville in April 1949. He later married Luella (Ostrander) Leizear on December 24, 1976 in Unadilla, NY. She predeceased him on April 30, 2006. Gleason loved horses and was on the Board of Directors of the Central New York State Team Penning Association. Gleason is survived by: 4 Children: Lonnie and Kathy Puffer Walton Keith Puffer Bainbridge Kathy and Dale Herring Unadilla Gleason, Jr. and Diane Puffer Unadilla 5 Stepchildren: Ken and Dawn Leizear Unadilla Randy and Fran Leizear Bainbridge Sandy and John Cummings Unadilla Shirley and Jeff Fletcher North Carolina Lester Leizear North Carolina Sister, Reatha Budine Walton As well as several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, and wife, Luella, Gleason was predeceased by his brother, John, his stepson Thomas Leizear, a stepgrandson, David Leizear and a granddaughter, Christina. Friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 10am-12noon at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 12noon at the funeral chapel with Rev. Veleda Banta officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Walton Cemetery, Walton, NY.
