Obituary of Louise H. Davidson

Louise H. Davidson Sidney, NY Louise H. Davidson, 88, of Sidney, was called to go home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 22, 2012. She was born on March 8, 1923, daughter of the late Harry and Mabel (Prouty) Hall in Bainbridge. Louise was married to Bruce Davidson on June 17, 1972 in Sidney. He predeceased her on February 18, 1992. Louise operated her own beauty shop for over 50 years in Sidney. She was a dedicated member of the First Congregational Church of Sidney, the Women of the Moose #502 Sidney, the R.H. Arrandale VFW Post 7914 Ladies Auxiliary, Sidney and the Charles L. Jacobi American Legion Post 183 Ladies Auxiliary, Sidney. She was also a life member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge #2175 Ladies Auxiliary, Sidney. As a young woman, Louise was an active outdoorswoman, enjoying such activities as hunting and picnicking. She was an avid crafter and her family still displays several of her homemade items such as Christmas ornaments and other holiday decorations. She was an excellent seamstress, providing her family with several homemade outfits. Louise was well known for her baking skills, crafting fanciful and decorative cakes. Louise is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Bruce) Shackelton of Sidney; her grandchildren: Tim (Kathi) Shackelton of Sidney, Cathy (Jeremy) Hall of Hallstead, PA and Chris Tomassetti of Binghamton, as well as several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Louise was predeceased by her brother, Robert Hall and her two sisters, Velma Ballantyne and Thelma Ranshow. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 4:00pm at the First Congregational Church, Bridge Street, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louise's memory may be made to the First Congregational Church, Bridge St. Sidney, NY 13838. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com.
