Obituary of Marjorie E. Bossler

Marjorie J. Eldred Bossler Oneonta, NY Marjorie "Marge" J. Eldred Bossler of Oneonta, NY passed away on January 28, 2012 at the age of 76 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Marge was born in Bainbridge, NY on March 23, 1935, the daughter of Kenneth and Blanche (Kichline) Eldred, who both predeceased her. She attended Bainbridge High School where she graduated in 1952. She attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, majoring in Music. It was at Northwestern that she met her first husband, Maurice (Bud) Marshall. They were married in Bainbridge, NY on June 26, 1954. She married her second husband, Sumner Lee Bossler, in Bainbridge, NY on August 25, 1986. She was a homemaker for most of her adult life where she took special pride in the raising of her children. Later, she became involved in the real estate business where she first associated with DeMulder Mang Realty and later founded Tri-Town Appraisal Services. Marge loved music and her piano. She was very active in local musical events including the Tri-Town Theater, Bainbridge Rotary Club Annual Show, Bainbridge-Guilford High School music events, and area music recitals. Since her high school days, Marge was the organist and music director for the St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Bainbridge and later at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oxford. Marge is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth (K.R.) and Sally Marshall, Frederick, MD; her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Mark Thompson, Frederick, MD; her stepson and his wife, Lt. Commander Sumner Lee and Tamara Bossler, Jr., Rockville, MD; her stepdaughter and her husband, Anna and Daniel Cassidy, Ambler, PA; grandchildren, Megan Marshall Putman (Jared), Benjamin Marshall (Marilyn), Marshall and Grant Thompson, Lena Bossler, Kyra and Liam Cassidy, and Dennis and Nicole Miller; and several nieces and a nephew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, and her sister, Claudine Eldred Breidster. Arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel in Sidney, NY. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be during a private service at the Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marge's memory to the Northeastern New York Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
