In all the 35 years I've known Art, I have never met anyone as kind and gentle as he always was. Ready to smile and laugh, go out of his way to make you feel welcome, and do anything for anyone to help out. I feel it an honor to have known him and believe he is in a better place now. May he rest in peace with the proud knowledge that he raised a beautiful family, led a full life, and has so many friends that will miss him dearly and join him in heaven eventually for another party!

In 1982 Art came with Ruth and me to help us in our insurance business. At that time I could not even spell insurance. Art could spell insurance and in the process brought so much more to our organization. Art was a true professional, a team supporter, a great travel companion, listener, brought that great sense of humor to any occasion and became a wonderful friend. Our most sincere sympathy to Art’s family. We will miss you Art.

Art was such a great Brother. There are 8 years between us. When Mom & Dad were making a trip upstate looking @ Farms, I refused to go because our baby was being left home w/ a friend! I was sure he wouldn't be properly looked after & so stayed home! A few years ago Art went to Norway to a Christensen Reunion. Also a Celebration of 100 years since our Grandfather's founding of his farm 'SAND'. There, Kay Art met over 200 relatives, Aunts & Uncles & Cousins! Maybe Eric has some pictures as he was there too. It was a Highlite for Art. There are so many relatives in NorwaY. We have 2 maternal Aunts Tante Ruth & Tante Liv & 1 paternal Aunt Tante Ellinor. Dozens of Cousins too This weekend we will celebrate the Life of a wonderful man. He never gossiped or said a bad word about anyone. If you needed help ,he was there to provide what he could. He leaves a Legacy of wonderful Memories for family & freinds. We will miss him ALOT.

Deborah and I met Art many years ago when he was a young insurance agent. His outgoing personality, love of sports and more importantly his understanding of agriculture made him an instant friend. We depended on him for down to earth advice and valued his wisdom greatly. The true value of a friend is how they stand by you in times of trouble. In our case, it was when we lost our dairy barn to fire. Art was his usual calm steady self. He came at once and simply stated he was there for us. He stood by us and remained with helping us put sense and reason to our darkest days. He is clearly a stellar example of a friend indeed when his friends were in need.
Art was a genuine guy, he said what he meant and meant what he said. He thought before he spoke and always gave good sound counsel. We debated sports and reminisce often the fact he played football and I only tried to play.
We feel blessed to have known him and thankful for all he did for us and countless numbers of others. Remember him with warmth in your heart and a smile on your lips and he will always be among us.

How sad for the world. Art was always everyone's favorite, from the time we were children and he was taller and stronger and faster, to the time we were grown and he was the one who was always thinking of others and never of himself. No one had a bigger smile or a bigger heart. It is a blessing to have known him and a proud thing to be related to him.

It did not take long to compile a list of heartfelt 'candles' for Art. Although I had not seen him in many years, the memories of great Sunday afternoon "Beer League" softball games are still fresh. How someone could spin a slow pitch softball so effectively to neutralize our powerful hitting Sidney team is still a mystery. And he did it with a smile on his face, making it even more frustrating. Great times! Art, your effect on those around you is well-documented and will go continue in subtle ways indefinitely. RIP my friend.

Dear Linda and family, My wife and I were made aware of Arts death on Friday. This was a huge shock and emotionally devastating. I'm sorry I didn't keep closer contact with Art throughout the past years and I will forever feel I cheated myself of his occasional company. When I started teaching at Mt. Upton in 1960 Art was a freshman. His first year as a high school athlete was noteable and promised much more as he grew older. I pushed him hard and expected great things from him, all of which he excelled at. He was a great athlete, student, leader and role model. In 34 years of teaching and coaching, Art has been my all time favorite. He was everything I could ask for and after college he was a good friend. He influenced so many others and will be missed more than we can ever explain. My sincere sympathy in your family"s loss . I hope he knew how much we thought of him. Truly, Jerry and Barbara Taylor
