Golf team dinners at his house with Roxy. Seeing him every morning at the course and hoping that I will be golfing everyday when I am 90 years old.

What an appropriate photo of Uncle Turk because the smile on his face is what I remember most. I will never forget how much fun I had when I got to have sleep overs with my cousins. I would usually ride home with Aunt Ruth and dinner would be on the table when we walked in the door prepared by Chef Olmstead. Such an even keel and gentle man. He was truly a very, very special Uncle and he touched so many lives. I am sad for my cousins' loss of their beloved father but know that he is at peace with God. Thanks for touching my life and the beautiful memories.

All these years and I never knew his real first name. As you can see above, my son remembers him fondly and with respect. That is good enough for me. Another of Sidney's "lifers" is gone, but with 70 years of fire department service, the man has earned his rest.

Last of the landmarks in our old neighborhood to pass. Rich, Rox and Cathy, I'll always remember all the time spent at your place and the crew of kids your parents put up with. He had a good long life and was respected by his community. Can't do better than that.
