Jim Delaney's photo is so fitting - he is umpiring at Doubleday Field with a slight smile on his face. Jim was an umpire for many baseball games for which I was a coach or player. He was not always right, but he made his calls with conviction and never shied away from explaining his reasons. And with that "slight smile", how could go away angry?? Off the field, his smile got much bigger. He loved his sports and loved his role in making sure games were won or lost by the kids, not the umpire. God Bless, Jim. You are now "safe at home"

Cindy, Jim, Terry, Colleen, And Netty I am sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. It is hard to lose our parents. There is no one to ask questions about the past any more. We become the older generation. I have many wonderful memories of growing up on the farm with all of you. Especially my "buddy" Cindy.

My condolences go out to the Delaney family. I was fortunate enough that God allowed me to have known Jim and officiate with him. He was a very dedicated man whether it was with his family, job or the sport he officiated. We will miss him and the spirit he always brought. God Bless all of you!!
