Ruth M. Steffen Bainbridge, NY Ruth M. Steffen 86 of Bainbridge passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 18, 2011 in Sidney. She was born April 18, 1925 daughter of the late Augustus and Ruth (Jennings) Stalker in the Town of Coventry. Ruth married John Steffen on August 4, 1943 in Edgefield, SC. He predeceased her on December 30, 2010 after 67 years of marriage. Ruth worked many jobs in the area, including, American Plastics, Keith Clark, The Bainbridge Algonquin Motel and the Bainbridge Quickway. Ruth was a devoted member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Bainbridge, a 30 year member of Fresh Air Fund Program, the Ladies Card Club, Bainbridge Women's Club, the Greene Red Hat Society, Rolling Antiques Car Club, the Algonquin Car Club, Bainbridge Fire Dept. Auxiliary, and Sidney Moose Auxiliary. Ruth is survived by: 2 Daughters and son-in-laws - Ann and Gary Christian of Fort Atkinson, WI Linda and Kevin Quick, Unadilla Son and Daughter-in-law - Jack and Pam Steffen, Sidney Sister - Shirley Wright, Tampa, FL Brother - Clifford and Linda Jones, Greene 2 Sister-in-laws - Mary Jane Parsons, Sidney Center Minnie Stalker, Binghamton Grandchildren - Tammy Wild, Jessica Dufford, Matthew Quick, Corey and Kayla Steffen, Joshua and Brianna McClenon 6 Great grandchildren Several nieces, nephews and cousins She was also predeceased by Sister, Nancy Nurek and Brother, Robert Stalker Friends may call Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 7-9 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. A memorial services will be held Friday, July 22, 2011 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Bainbridge at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Marilyn Sanders will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge.
