Fred was an old friend of mine. He lived on Pleasant Street, and I at 4 Avery Street. We had a close knit group back then. Fred "Otto" Smith, Bob "Butch" Slawson, Gary "pee wee" Slawson,Claire "Butch" Carpentier, the Cole Brothers, Mike Badeau, and Floyd "Frenchie" Howard. We played wiffleball, football, made pizza and listened to music. I last saw Fred at Mead just before we both retired. He was a great guy. Miss you Fred.
