Obituary of Milford Dyer

Milford Dyer Bainbridge, NY Milford "Dusty" Dyer, 86 of Bainbridge passed away on Thursday morning, April 16, 2009 at the Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich. Milford was born on August 4, 1922, son of the late Harry S. and Myra (Neild) Dyer in South Kortright, NY. Milford served in the United States Army from 1942-1945. Dusty was a supervisor at Borden's Chemical Co. for over 44 years, retiring in October 1985. On February 7, 2005, Milford married Jennie Walker Shaver in Honolulu, Hawaii. She survives him. Dusty was a member of the Sidney American Legion and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #277 Sidney. He was a 40 year member of the Bainbridge Fire Department and helped start their EMS program. Dusty was an avid hunter and was also active with the Bainbridge Sportsmen Club. He loved to dance and was a member of the Sidney Dance Club. Milford is survived by: His loving wife, Jennie Dyer Bainbridge Daughter, Irene Price Bainbridge Son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Beth Dyer Gilbertsville Stepchildren: Dolores Atkerson Turnersville, NJ Kenneth and Karen Shaver NC Donna and Lynn Shaver FL Jennie and Doug Merritt FL 17 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins Milford was predeceased by his daughter, Sharon Osterwald and his sister, Letha Gray and Brother, Linn Dyer Friends are invited to call on Monday, April 20, 2009 from 11am-1:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Milford's name may be made to the Bainbridge Fire Department or to the Bainbridge Sports Club.
