The best boss I could have ever asked for. My sincerest of condolences to the entire Drotar family.
I am very proud to have worked for him over the last 8+ years. I will never forget the business and personal lessons I learned from him, from day one it was clear he was a strong family man, and I am by far a better man for having known him.

I knew Dick in Sidney in the 60's and though I haven't seen him since the early 70's when he serviced Vail Ballous Server I have considered him a friend. He was always a wonderful fellow full of life and nice to all.

Dick was the best boss I ever had. He treated me with respect and I looked to him as a mentor. I learned alot from Dick. He was a man of pride and admiration. He was bonded to his family and his community. My prayers go out to Betty and the entire Drotar family. Take comfort in the memories and the life long lessons Dick instilled in us all. He will be greatly missed. Mark

Dick and I were friends for many years and shared some great times at the race track.I remember he held the record for eating the most hot dogs in one night at Utica-Rome Dragway. I also remember how happy he was to get his first date with Betty. It wasn't long before he was spending more time with her than with me.I have so many memories of the times we shared in the good old days and will always miss him.

Betty,
My sincere condolences to you and your family. The last time I saw you and Dick was at a class reunion about 4 years ago. I'm glad I had a chance to visit with you both. Dick was about 5 years older than me and when I was a "kid" hanging around my Dad's Garage, Dick was one of the cool guys with a fast car (A Mopar). We talked about the good old days and I'm glad for that. You have a good support group - your friends and family will help you get through many trying days. You have my e-mail address and if you ever need or want to talk to someone that is going through what you're going through, just send me an e-mail.
Stay strong, my prayers are with you and your family.

Betty and family. I was just informed and I share oh so deeply in your sorrow. Richard was a big Brother to me for years and no doubt the strongest mentor in my life. For those that knew our closeness it should come of no surprise that I too retired from IBM after 30 years, entered Field Engineering after his consult and drive a HEMI today. I remember those same Utica Rome days well that Mr. Darrow has reflected upon. The smile on Dicks face was a constant but the night he drove his Super Bee past Dick Watsons HEMI Dart there I saw a special one I will never forget. Richard made a lasting difference in my life and I am very very fortunate to have spent so much time of my life with him.
May God Bless you Betty and all of yours.
