Obituary of Daniel A. Dean

Daniel A. Dean Masonville, NY Daniel A. Dean 63 of Masonville passed away after a brief illness Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City. He was born October 17, 1947, son of the late Raymond A. and Gertrude (Wright) Dean in Sidney. Dan graduated from Sidney Central Schools with the class of 1966 and later graduated from SUNY Delhi with a degree in agricultural engineering. Dan married Sally Howland on August 24, 1968 in Masonville. She predeceased him on June 15, 1993. Dan served his country with the United States Army in Vietnam from 1968 to 1971. Upon is honorable discharge Dan returned to SUNY Delhi and earned a business degree. He worked for the Amphenol Corp. in Sidney for over 42 years and was a Senior Technical Service Representative. Dan later remarried Irene Swislosky on August 8, 1998 in Masonville. She also predeceased him on September 1, 2002. Dan was a hard worker and devoted family man. He was active with the Delaware Co. Four H, was and honorable member of the Sidney FFA. He volunteered to work the concession stand for the Sidney Youth Football and any activity that involved his family. He was also a member of the Masonville Federated Church having served in the past as Deacon. He is survived by his loving family: Daughter - Amy Dean and her Husband Charles Heap, West Sand Lake, NY Son - Corey Dean and his wife - Donna of Masonville Daughter - Christina Eastwood and her husband, Steve, Masonville Daughter - Irene Luca, Bedford, NH Daughter - Kimberly Lencki and her Husband, Jeff, Manchester, NH Son - Ludwig Becker, Manchester, NH Grandchildren - Austin and Wade Dean, Masonville Alex Heap, West Sand Lake, NY Brendon Vermilyea, Tyler, Mackenzie, Lyndsay, Caleb and Ryan Luca, Bedford, NH Jocelyn and Jennifer Lencki, Manchester, NH Mother-in-law - Savalla Howland, Masonville And several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends Friends may call Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Masonville Federated Church on the corner of the Route 8 and 206 in Masonville. Burial with military honors will follow in Masonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Masonville Fire Department or the Masonville Federated Church.
