Frank W. Cole, Jr.
Sidney, NY
Frank W. Cole, Jr., 90, a longtime resident of Sidney, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford where he's resided since February. Frank was born on April 30, 1920, son of the late Frank W. Cole, Sr. and Rena I. (Hopkins) Cole in Unadilla and was raised in Rockdale. A World War II Veteran in the Army Air Force, Frank was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant. On March 13, 1943, Frank married Marie Weeden in Norwich and they shared 67 years of love and marriage. She predeceased him on August 15, 2010. Frank retired from Amphenol Corporation in Sidney as a machinist, working there for over 30 years. He had a kind heart and enjoyed helping anyone in need. Frank looked forward to his daily visits to Hale's. He also worked with the Tri-Town News doing pick-up and deliveries and loved working with the great employees.
Frank is survived by:
2 Children: Rena and Raymond Doing of Norwich and Lonnie and Mildred Cole of Virginia Beach
4 Grandchildren: Stephen R. Doing and Scott Doing, both of Norwich and Ashley Cole and Harrison Cole, both of Virginia Beach
3 Great Grandchildren: Kyya, Rayna and Noah Doing
Sister-in-law, Margaret Cole of Rockdale
As well as numerous nieces and nephews
In addition to his wife, Frank was predeceased by his three brothers: R. Charles, Rowland and Donald Cole.
