Obituary of Sheila Ann Gliha

Sheila A. Gliha Bainbridge, NY Sheila A. Gliha passed away on January 26th peacefully at her home. She was born in Malone N.Y. the daughter of Harlow and Mary Durkin of Brasher Falls N.Y. on February 23, 1944. Sheila is survived by her husband Edward of Bainbridge N.Y., two sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward III of Sidney and Adam and Jennie of Oneonta, two daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Michael Mucha of Eaton and Rachel and Shawn Tamer of Albany. Other survivors include a grandson Aiden Gliha of Oneonta, mother Mary Durkin of Brasher Falls, two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Barbara Durkin of Hannawa Falls and Philip and Kathy Durkin of Saranac Lake . Two sisters and brothers-in-law Maureen and Ralph Perkins of Baldwinsville and Erin and Keith O'Connor of Moira. Sister-in-law Blanche and her husband William Bateman of Denville N.J. and brother-in-law John Gliha of Paradise C.A. Several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Sheila was predeceased by her son Matthew Stephen and her father Harlow Durkin. Sheila graduated nursing school in Malone, NY in 1965. She worked many years as an LPN at The Hospital in Sidney. Sheila was also an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bainbridge. Friends may call Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 31, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 34 South Main St. Bainbridge, NY. Msgr. James Cox will officiate. Burial will take place at 11:00am on Friday, June 3, 2011 in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge.
