Howard Huntington 90 of Masonville passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011 in Sun City, FL.
He was born August 28, 1920 in Syracuse, NY, the only child of Ford and Alice (Slade) Huntington. They moved to their farm in Masonville the following year. Howard graduated from Sidney Central School in the Class of 1937. He was employed by Scintilla where he worked in the tool room and the experimental dept. He retired in September of 1985. During WWII he served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Howard was in the Pacific theatre and was wounded in the invasion of Peleliu for which he received the Purple Heart.
Howard was a member of the Masonville Federated Church and a P.M of the Masonville Lodge #606 F&AM., Past Patron and Past D.G.L of Masonville Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of the Masonville Fire Dept and Emergency Squad. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later in life, he took up playing golf, although he never thought he was much of a golfer, the friends made over the years made the game worthwhile.

Stepdaughter-Kathy and Carl Harlow, Walton
5 Grandchildren and several great- step grandchildren
Howard was also predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth who passed away with cancer.
Friends may call Friday, January 21, 2011 from 6-8 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Masonville Federated Church. Rev. Roger Davies will officiate. Burial will military honors will be in Masonville Cemetery. In lieu of the flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Masonville Federated Church, the Masonville Fire Dept. and the Masonville Emergency Squad.
