Obituary of Evelyn Margaret Slawson

Evelyn "Peggy" Slawson North Franklin, NY Evelyn (Peggy) Slawson, 87, a resident of James G. Johnston Nursing Home, and formerly of North Franklin, passed away peacefully Thursday evening January 13, 2011 in Johnson City. She was born on January 26, 1923 in East Meredith, the daughter of the late Frederick Francis and Lany (O'Brien) Sheehan. She married Laverne Slawson on August 11, 1940 in Cobleskill. He predeceased her on August 6, 2006. Peggy was predeceased by her daughter, Dorothy, and granddaughter, Wendy. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Richard Teter of Greene, two sons and a daughter-in-law, James and Bernadette Slawson of Titusville, FL, and L. Mark Slawson of Quincy, MA; a son-in-law, George Kolb of Norwich, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Hilltop's James G. Johnston Nursing Home for their wonderful care and concern for Peggy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Aldrich Baptist Church in North Franklin. Burial will follow in Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin. Expressions of sympathy in Peggy's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
