"Bil and Linda." It will take a while to change my words to "Linda",. It just doesn't sound right yet. I have not only been your sister-in-law, but also your nurse in times of trouble. All the many procedures that you went through, I was your medical dictionary to interpret and have you and Linda understand what was going on. You will be sooo missed by the "Cole" family! You have had numerous heart issues BUT you always pulled through. With your huge heart, you were always welcoming, loving, giving and thankful with your huge hug to all. Family life has changed for us, forever.
Bil forever LOVED! Never Forgotten! Valerie

Bil was the best storyteller I have ever met. He could spin a yarn, in great detail and divulge more information on the subject than most television commentators.
He loved the outdoors and spent most of his time riding a farm tractor or 4-wheeler or Snowmobile.
He even bought a camp near Tug Hill so he and the boys could ride their sleds hundreds of miles on the famed "Tug Hill Plateau"
If he wasn't outside, he usually had a grandchild on his lap as he was always the favorite Grampa. I will never stop smiling when Bil Thomas is mentioned.

Hi Linda. I'm so sorry to hear of Bill's passing last Friday. My brother texted me this morning to give me the news and I was absolutely stunned to hear about it.
I remember Bill as far back as I can remember from growing up through the school system together and participating in sports with him.
Bill could be a friend with anybody and he was my friend. It's been many years since I last saw him but I certainly never forgot about him, or you. The last time I saw either one of you was when I dropped off a car to have body work done on it when I was at Scoville-Meno's. It was good to see you both.
I'm sending you my deepest condolences and know that you're in my throughts and prayers. I wish I could attend the service but I'm in Florida and won't be able to attend.
You're loved by many and you have a world of support behind you. Take care Linda and may God bless you and comfort you during this very difficult time.

Bill left behind a treasure trove of impactful touches in our area. From the business to the school board, rec sports to a family-first motto. Those trips to Shea Stadium for our WCDO Mets sponsors were a blast. Bill was also one of the first business owners to deliver his own radio commercial ("...21 Union St. in beautiful downtown Sidney") . He knew everyone and had stories aplenty. On behalf of the Davie family I send our sympathies to the Thomas families. It was truly a wonderful life. Thank you for your dedication for the betterment of Sidney.

Our deepest condolences to the Thomas family. I remember them all well from the Baptist Church many years ago, and Bill’s parents were loving individuals. It is with great sadness to learn of Bill’s passing this day of the eclipse. His sense of community could be found in all that he and Linda shared. I had the opportunity to work with Gary, Jimmy and Matt as a coach and the drive and determination they portrayed was a replication of the same effort Bill put into his business in Sidney. As an educator I appreciated the hard work he put in as a Board of Education member as well. May his passing be made a bit easier knowing that those of us that crossed paths with Bill have much redo for the life he led. Coach Finnegan

I am so sorry to read of Bill's passing. He repaired many of our cars over the years and was always diligent and fair. i remember when he and Mike coached opposing teams on the Little League fields. They always had a great time and made sure the kids did too, win or lose. Please accept my sincere condolences. Rest in Peace Bill.

My sympathy to the Thomas family on their loss of Bill's company.
Bill's obituary tells he learned to love farming when a child. After his parents' move to the town of Masonville, he got to grow up among farms, one of which he is shown visiting with his younger siblings in 1965.

To the Thomas Family - My heart aches for you all. Bill was a wonderful man. I had the honor of working at the school when he was on the Board of Education. His heart and soul was doing what was best for the district and what was right for the students. As a businessman - he was one of the most honest, fairest people I've ever known. He's with his Mom & Dad and sister now. Rest in Peace to a wonderful man! God Bless You All!
