Being a Firefighter in service to the town of Masonville, it was my honor to serve at the same time Greg was a member and officer.
We had good (great times) and some of the most disheartening time’s a bunch of firefighters could through. I knew I could always count on you to be there to help, to lecture, to make me laugh, and to brave the heat of the situations the fire service presented to the department. Although you sometimes you had a gruff and tough exterior, you always treated me and my fellow members with respect. I knew that if I got myself in a jam, at a scene, you and Mike would be there to come get me back to safety. We did a lot of work that most people don’t get to see in service to the community and we did things most people wouldn’t volunteer to do. We sacrificed time away from our families for department meetings, department drills, training fellow members and fund raisers to support department operations. And when we could, we enjoyed a few beers together. Rest in peace, for you were not just another firefighter, you were a buddy and most of all a friend.
So to the family members I offer my deepest condolences. If I had to live my life all over again, I would certainly change some things, but my time with you in the department I would not miss it.
Good-bye Buddy, may God grant you his eternal peace. And I Thank-you for all you did for me, the community and the department.

We are saddened to hear about Greg’s passing and send our deepest sympathies to Barb, their children and Greg’s entire family. While we lost touch in later years, we will always have fond memories of Greg while growing up in Sidney. He was a good friend and teammate. May the special memories you made together help you all through these difficult times.

Greg was a pillar of my youth. He always made time for me when I needed him, and when he said "I'm just a phone call away" he really meant it and stuck to it. The running joke in our family for most of my life was that he was my dad's "life partner". They had a great friendship and banter that led to me learning what camaraderie was but also maybe a few uncouth words. I will miss him.

As your family and friends grieve here on earth, may they take comfort in knowing that you were welcomed into heaven with Love and Grace. The Angels rejoiced as you arrived. Now you know no pain or suffering, but only Love and warmth. Your journey is complete, rest now in the arms of Jesus. You will be missed.
