It feels like we just met Duane a few summers back, although the life goes fast and suddenly 10 years passed and our friend is gone when I finally writing down my thoughts, trying to express our deep feelings scrambling to say what a great man he was… I always felt great respect and admired Duane’s ability to find simple answer to my over-complicating-looking (at least for me) problems - like leveling the basement floor, water-sealing the wall or picking the right paint and often solve easily so many puzzles which were popping up so often when we just got our home here upstate. Then, over time we became not just neighbors but indeed real friends and now we feel deep deep sorrow that Duane left so early, but he will remain in our hearts and thoughts. Just thinking of how many warm feelings and good memories he left to us: what a great fascinating story his whole life was, how many challenges he’d been through, but then successfully overcame to become a role model, a good husband, a loving father, a caring grandfather, a truly good man - strong and reliable, always ready to help, giving so much to the people around, his family and friends.. Dear Duane - we will always remember you as a man who gives, you left a void in our souls and you will be greatly missed…

My heart hurts for all of you, we are honored to have known such a sweet, kind gentleman. I will miss him, when we come to visit; but will certainly always feel his presence there, in his beautiful art work & and woodworking skills around your home. Duane, til we meet again my friend…you will always be remembered.
