Q: What will you never forget about Joseph?
A: First I want to say how very sorry I am for your loss. After my husband, Russell Barry passed every Christmas Joe would come to my door with a card and a gift of money. I will always remember his kindness and generosity. I hope he knew how much it meant to me to be remembered. I am truly saddened that this kind man is gone.

My heart breaks for my Schalk family. Joe was like a second father to me growing up and still to this day. The memories I have of him will stay with me forever. A few of my favorites would be when he grounded me from going home after getting back to their house later than we should of, going to church with him and helping him with fire wood or working in his garden. Most kids when they went to their friends houses got away from doing chores not me when I went to Tina’s for an overnight (week) I knew I’d be put to work. However it never bothered me and I’ll never forget him I’ll always be Con-e-ham (Cunningham) Sending love and hugs to all my Schalk’s.
