Obituary of William C. Beebe

William Christian Beebe Afton, NY William Christian Beebe, 85 of Afton and formerly of Schenectady passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010 at O'Connor Hospital in Delhi. He was born August 6, 1925, son of the late Lloyd and Clara (Peters) Beebe in Scotia, NY. He graduated from Scotia High School and joined the United States Navy during WWII. He graduated from Navy Midshipman School in the V12 program and was commissioned as an officer. He served as the Navigation Officer on a small ship in the Pacific Ocean. Upon the end of the war and his honorable discharge he returned home and started his own printing business. Bill married Eleanor Frank on May 25, 1945 in Miami; FL. Bill was a charter member of the Rotterdam Kiwanis and they were active membesr of the Princetown Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Bill and Eleanor helped with many community outreach programs, such as Christmas food baskets and the Schenectady City Mission. Since 2004 Bill and Eleanor have resided in Afton, NY and have attended the United Methodist Church of Afton. He will be remembered as a kind, loyal and devoted man. He is survived by his loving wife - Eleanor Beebe, Afton 2 Sons and a daughter-in-law - William and Naomi Beebe, Citrus Heights, CA Richard Beebe, Afton 2 Grandchildren, Christian Beebe and his wife Jan, and Karen Beebe Several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, November 12, 2010 from 1-2 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main Sidney. Funeral and committal services will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dolly Tarreto pastor of the United Methodist Church of Afton officiating Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Afton.
